I enjoy watching the Olympics.  Britain has done a great job with the opening of the 2012 Summer Olympics.  But, no matter what anyone does I still love the lighting of the torch in Barcelona Spain.  Have a look back to 1992 and tell me what you think??  What is the best torch lighting that you have seen?

 We have been enjoying watching old episodes of Bewitched!  I had to find the episode with the flying saucer...I love the aliens!!  They look like cute puppy dogs.  What was your favorite tv show as a kid??

Monkeys with Davy Jones

OK Davy Jones was the first of teen heart throb that was "manufactured"...but I fell for it! he was sooooo cute! Now when I look at the old pics I do see similarities between him and Justin Beeber. Funny that I'm not impressed with Beeber?! The more time changes things the more they stay the same...RIP Davy Jones.

Golfing

We had a great day golfing today with Grandma and Grandpa. Played a scramble, so we had 2 teams...Grandpa, Scotty and Megan beat Grandma and I by 1 stroke!!!
Good game, good weather, great memories!
Loved that we stopped and had lunch at the golf course...it is always about the whole experience for me...and that one was great :0)

Another Birthday is rolling around for my son. The only thing that marks my getting older other than my own birthday is his birthday!

Every year I mark the occasion with a cake that is lovingly made by me. These are just a few of the cakes I have slaved over to make his day special.

This year he has a special request!!! A Dairy Queen cake, sigh....be sad that he doesn't want me to make on or happy that it will be less work? :D

Lego

I have always been a fan of Lego!!! Now they have Lego sets....way cooler that the collection of bricks I had when I was little. I could very easily become a collector and I admire what others have made. I want to try creating my own set on line, then they mail you all the pieces and the instructions to actually build it...even comes in a collector box!
I guess I don't really need to become a collector, as long as my kids love it! I seem to have a fabulous collection in the basement already...just calling to me. I vow to answer that call one day this summer! On a hot summer day when we need a break from the heat we are going to head to the basement and see what happens with all that Lego...might even send in a pic to Lego Magazine...mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!

My Favorite little dessert!!!

So simple and yet soooooo good!! These little Mickey Mouse Chocolate treats are only at Chef Mickey's and I love them. With the an Oreo cookie base, mousse top and chocolate chip ears!
I think I could try making these at home...Might have fun trying to perfect the technique :D

FarmVille can be addictive. The fun part for me is setting up my farm and having a new task. It is better with the English farms as well as my Canadian farm since it gives more to do other than just planting...The best part is playing with friends and family, can feel like you have communication daily. This was my farm a while back, it is always changing:D

Good Idea

Another Great Canadian idea...hope we can get it on the road!!!

How could I not comment on the event of the day...Decade!!
I still have to watch about 7 hours of it until I can really say what I think...First impression...Wrong type of dress. Kate is always dressed classic and refined. This dress was too old for her and didn't add or compliment her. She should of had her sisters dress!!! That was elegant and classic.
That's my opinion so far. Maybe I will think differently after I watch the whole event.
God bless them...they are going to need it!

This pic was taken in 2004 before the pier was even started....when will it be finished?? Should they finish it???
The pier is a terrible eye sore only matched by the hideous hydro lines along the beach...without those two things we would have incredible skyline and bridge...among the world's best.
That's what I think anyway...

Tubeless Toilet Paper!!!!

Problem: There’s one sheet of toilet paper left—but after you finish scraping it from the cardboard roll it looks more like confetti. Solution: tube-free toilet paper! Paper giant Kimberly-Clark will begin testing toilet paper’s biggest change in 100 years this month says USA Today. Apparently, there’s a “special winding process.” The rolls don’t sport a perfectly round center, but they do promise that “even the last piece of toilet paper will be usable—without glue stuck on it.”

The tubeless rolls also get the green stamp of approval because seriously, when’s the last time you recycled a roll instead of using it to shoot a perfect free throw into the trashcan?

I thought this explanation of how toilet paper is made was really interesting. Vikings used wool? Gross.
